THE ROYAL WEDDING

The moment the crowd was waiting for ... Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge kiss on the balcony at Buckingham Palace.

The couple looked lovingly at each other as they exchanged a few words, William looking down to admire the length of Kate’s dramatic dress.

The Archbishop asked William: “Wilt thou love her, comfort her, honour and keep her, in sickness and in health; and, forsaking all other, keep thee only unto her, so long as ye both shall live?”

William’s voice crackled slightly as he said: I will.”
As Kate said “I will” to the same vows there was a loud cheer from the crowd outside.

William spoke steadily and confidently as he repeated the words after the Archbishop, saying:

“I, William Arthur Philip Louis, take thee, Catherine Elizabeth to my wedded wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse: for richer, for poorer; in sickness and in health; to love and to cherish, till death us do part, according to God’s holy law; and thereto I give thee my troth.”

ARE WE REALLY INTERESTED?

Are we really that interested in the Royals?

Is Canada that close to the Royals? Anyone can mention the benefits of ties with the English Crown?Who pays for the trips/comfort/security, etc... everytime they decided to take a vacation?
What the Governor General do by representing the Queen (paid by us) - collecting "thankyou"cards? It's time to cut the umbilical cord.

 I'm not against the Royalty...

I found cultural heritage, history traditions, very interesting and make my imagination spin... The Greek historian Herodotus (considered to be the "father of history"), and, along with his contemporary Thucydides, gave us a vision of the past and open a way for future historians to continue to remind us not only about the world's cruelty, anger, greed and war, but the compassion, the good, the discovers,  etc... by the Monarchy, and British Royalty is the most read and known Monarchy in the world.

Royalty is tradition in England... so let it stay in the country!

I consider British Monarchy parasites, since do not contribute much to the country, except for Turism... and to keep heritage alive!

Monarchy is the Past... there is no room in the future, special in Canada. Let's move ahead...

I will watch and post about my views of the Wedding (of the future King of England).
Besides, in the news.. it's only the beginning!...

ONLY IN AMERICA...

These are the times I am so PROUD to be a CANADIAN. In our country someone's birth does not decide one's dedication towards one's country

The face says it all:
PRESIDENT OBAMA to prove that is "American Citizen", to shut some of his critics mouths!

The certificate says Obama was born in the state of Hawaii, which makes him constitutionally eligible to hold the office of president.

Potential Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump recently began questioning why Obama hadn't ensured the long form was released.

The certificate is signed by the delivery doctor, Obama's mother and the local registrar. His mother, then 18, signed her name (Stanley) Ann Dunham Obama.
The form says Barack Hussein Obama II was born at 7:24 p.m. on Aug. 4, 1961, at Kapiolani Maternity and Gynecological Hospital, within the city limits of Honolulu.
There's no mention of religion. It says his father Barack Hussein Obama, age 25, was African and born in Kenya and his mother was Caucasian and born in Wichita, Kansas. Obama's mother and the doctor signed the certificate on Aug. 7 and 8.
Hawaii's registrar certified the new photocopy of the document provided to the White House on April 25, 2011.

CHERNOBYL: 25 Years

April 26, 1986, 1:26:03am – fire alarm activated - The worst nuclear disaster in the world

Ukraine marked the 25th anniversary on Tuesday of the world's worst nuclear accident at its Chernobyl power plant as Japan pressed on with efforts to control the crisis at its Fukushima plant.
On April 26 1986, the No. 4 reactor at the Chernobyl plant, then in the Soviet Union, exploded and caught fire after a safety test experiment went badly wrong.

A total of 31 people died immediately but many more died of radiation-related sicknesses such as cancer, many of them in what is today Belarus.

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich: "We have paid for the peace of the planet with the lives and health of thousands of compatriots. But not a single nation, even the most powerful, can overcome the consequences of a catastrophe of such a scale by itself," the leader said. "Chernobyl was a challenge of planetary dimensions. The answer to this challenge can be provided only by the world community”.

In the aftermath of the accident, 237 people suffered from acute radiation sickness, of whom 31 died within the first three months. Most of these were fire and rescue workers trying to bring the accident under control, who were not fully aware of how dangerous exposure to the radiation in the smoke was. Whereas, in the World Health Organization's 2006 report of the Chernobyl Forum expert group on the 237 emergency workers who were diagnosed with ARS, ARS was identified as the cause of death for 28 of these people within the first few months after the disaster. There were no further deaths identified, in the general population affected by the disaster, as being caused by ARS. Of the 72,000 Russian Emergency Workers being studied, 216 non-cancer deaths are attributed to the disaster, between 1991 and 1998. The latency period for solid cancers caused by excess radiation exposure is 10 or more years; thus at the time of the WHO report being undertaken, the rates of solid cancer deaths were no greater than the general population. Some 135,000 people were evacuated from the area, including 50,000 from Pripyat.

HAPPY EASTER

The correct greeting should not be Happy Easter, but rather HAPPY PASCHA derived from Hebrew Pesach - meaning the festival of Passover.
Easter is a wonderful time to enjoy family and friends, a wonderful meal, lots a goodies. It's srpring, the grass getting greener, the days getting longer and sunny and even the birds having a good time. Even some of us attend church.

Have we forgotten what Easter really means…?
All our lives we learn about our Savior who died and rose again on the third day. I enjoy all the reminders of the season, it brings on a fresh new feeling, and a new beginning. I also remember of the suffering our Savior endured. We forget that he was nailed to that old cross, slandered, and spit on. Once he died he was taken and clothed in white, and placed in a tomb. They even tried to come up with a story, just in case he disappeared from his tomb. Which we know he did.

We live in a day and age, where budgets, and gas, and survival are the quickest ways to make us forget the real reason why we celebrate this special day.

Enjoy the ham, the yams, the goodies, the time of the family and  friends, the sunshine, but when you have a quiet moment, don't forget to take some time and dwell on the goodness of his mercies this Easter day.

What Easter Means to God

What if this year at Easter
I put all bunnies to the side,
forget about the chocolates
and not a single egg I hide.

I wouldn't fill an Easter basket
but instead fill up my mind
with sweet thoughts of that
Easter morn
and a Man no one could find.

I think that I might sympathize
with Thomas who had to feel
the nail holes in his Savior's hands
to know that He was real.

And that is what I think that God
would help my heart to see
what Easter really means to Him
and what it means for me.

THE LAST SNOW OF THE SEASON

Last night on my deck... The last of the Winter?

Good-bye, winter! Though it's true
I've had lots of fun with you,
Now I just could shout and sing;
I'm so glad because it's spring!

Good-bye, snow! Good-bye, ice!
Though of course you're very nice,

I am glad you've gone away
Leaving us this fine spring day

CHARLES CHAPLIN - 122nd Birthday

"A day without laugher is a day wasted"

One of many quote from my favourite actor of the silent era - Charles Chaplin (Charlot) - that celebrates today 122 years(Apr.16, 1889 - Dec. 25'1977) - a tramp, a gentleman, a poet, a dreamer, a lonely fellow, always hopeful of romance and adventure. Salute!

U.S. school renames Easter eggs ‘spring spheres’

A teenager volunteering at a Seattle elementary school was apparently told to use the politically correct name “spring spheres” when she tried giving kids plastic Easter eggs filled with candy.

“They said I could do it as long as I called the treats ‘spring spheres.’ I couldn’t call them Easter eggs,” a 16-year-old named Jessica told a Seattle radio station.

“We have a ‘Religion and Religious Accommodation’ policy, approved by the School Board in 1983, stating that ‘no religious belief or non-belief should be promoted by the School District or its employees, and none should be disparaged,’” it reads.

The incident is gaining international attention and is a hot Twitter topic, with people largely criticizing the board.
Many bloggers and media websites have picked up the story.
“Whenever you talk about religion it raises people’s concern. It’s a hot-button issue for many folks.”
(fromToronto Star)

It's sad that how the mind of some people works in the name of being politically correct.
At Christmas slowly are loosing the "Merry Christmas" greeting in favor or the "Season Greetings" and now we trying to get ride of the Easter. Easter is a convergence of the three traditions - Pagan, Hebrew and Christian, so who benefits from name change? Who s afraid of being target as political incorrect? What the world is coming to?

Political correctness (abbreviated to PC) is a term which denotes language, ideas, policies, and behavior seen as seeking to minimize social and institutional offense in occupational, gender, racial, cultural, sexual orientation, religious belief, disability, and age-related contexts, and doing so to an excessive extent.
